Harold Nolte - My BioI have been in the computer industry since the 1970s. I have worked for Sperry Univac, Unisys, Compaq, Iomega, Novell and Hewlett-Packard, and other computer companies. I worked with the first microprocessor, the Intel 8080. I “grew up” with the IBM compatible PC and first learned DOS in 1983 (when DOS came on one 360 Kilobyte floppy). I helped develop Compaq’s version of DOS, and worked with Microsoft on portions of Windows version 3.0. I have experience with the latest versions of Windows and the latest PC hardware. I developed a training program for a major computer company, taught many seminars and organized seminars to help train employees. I am currently developing training courses to teach people more about computers. I enjoy teaching. I love to help people understand computer systems.
Reason For This SiteThis site is a place to go for computer tips and help. If you want to learn to do something on the computer or need help understanding computer concepts, you can come to this site and if you can't find what you need, I am here to help. I hope to have a lot of information on this site for you to use in a self-help fashion. Go through the site and see what's here. Come back later to see what's new. For the most part, computers are easy to use. With the graphical user interface (GUI, pronounced GOOEY), they are easier today than they were with DOS, the operating system of the original PC. But there are many things you can learn to help you “fill in the gaps” of understanding. You can get that information here, either on this site or I can give you personal help.
